3.3 Endangered and protected species of flora and fauna: Permits for import of species and their products and derivates are issued in accordance with the Law on nature protection (OG MNE, No.054/16) and the CITES Convention. By means of succession, on 3 June 2007, Montenegro ratified the CITES Convention. Montenegro operates under Articles 1 to 25 of the CITES Convention and it is in compliance with the CITES provisions.

1 Minister of Environment, Solid Waste Management and Climate Change: Mauritius has successfully implemented its Chlorofluorocarbons (CFC) Phase out Management Plan since 2005 and importation of CFCs have been completely banned. Presently, a Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFC) Phase out Management Plan (HPMP) has been developed/approved in 2011 and importation of HCFC refrigerants is being controlled. A quota system based on a baseline figure (the average amount of HCFC refrigerants imported in 2009 and 2010), has been set up/implemented, since 2013. In 2015, as required under the Montreal Protocol and as provided in the HPMP, a 10% reduction was applied to the baseline import and a quota system worked out accordingly (2019).
