To foster the socioeconomic development of Costa Rica by attracting foreign direct investment, encouraging domestic investment and promoting exports, by providing exemption from all import or internal taxes on packing and packaging materials and containers, as well as on computer equipment and electronic waste and any other waste resulting from the enterprise's activities in the duty-free zone provided that these packing and packaging materials, containers and waste are to be recycled or reused.

Transport support measure for the French Overseas Departments:
The aid scheme aims to offset the incremental costs arising from the structural disadvantages related to the extremely remote location of the French Overseas Departments and French outermost regions. These incremental costs correspond to extra transport costs, in particular those generated by the lack of suitable local waste treatment plants and the need to send waste to mainland Europe or another French Overseas Department or French outermost region for treatment.

Transport support measure for the French Overseas Departments:
The aid scheme aims to offset the incremental costs arising from the structural disadvantages related to the extremely remote location of the French Overseas Departments and French outermost regions. These incremental costs correspond to extra transport costs, in particular those generated by the lack of suitable local waste treatment plants and the need to send waste to mainland Europe or another French Overseas Department or French outermost region for treatment.
Enterprises in all production sectors except the following: the automotive, synthetic fibres, iron and steel, and coal industries and the fisheries sector, as well as the agricultural products listed in Annex I to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union.
