Monocrotophos (Quality Control) Order, 2023: Monocrotophos, technical, exists in two isomeric forms, namely, cis isomer and trans isomer. Of these two isomeric forms, only the cis isomer is effective. This is a systemic as well as contact insecticide and employed in the preparation of pesticidal formulations for the control of insect and acarine pests of agricultural crops. So, for protection of human health and environment, the BIS standard of Monocrotophos needs to be made mandatory. The locally manufactured or imported Monocrotophos shall conform to the Indian Standard (IS 8025: 1990) and shall bear the standard mark under license from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) as per Scheme-II of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. Sodium Cyanide (Quality Control) Order, 2023: odium cyanide finds extensive use in the extraction of gold and silver from ores, in ore floatation process, pharmaceuticals and complexing agents, synthesis of intermediate compounds for preparation of hydrocyanic acid, heat treatment salts, preparation of metallic salts, etc, This is also used as insecticides/weedicides; in the preparation of cyanuric chloride, cleaning of metals, as fumigant and in the manufacture of dyes and pigments and nylon intermediate. So, for protection of human health and environment, the BIS standard of Sodium cyanide needs to be made mandatory. The locally manufactured or imported Sodium cyanide shall conform to the Indian Standard IS 11782: 1986, and shall bear the standard mark under license from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) as per Scheme-II of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. Toluene Diisocyanate (Quality Control) Order, 2023: Toluene diisocyanate is used as a chemical intermediate in the production of polyurethane foams, elastomers, and coatings; paints; varnishes; wire enamels; sealants; adhesives; and binders. It is also used as a cross-linking agent in the manufacture of nylon polymers. So, for protection of human health and environment, the BIS standard of Toluene Diisocyanate needs to be made mandatory. The locally manufactured or imported Toluene diisocyanate shall conform to the Indian Standard IS 17916 : 2022, and shall bear the standard mark under license from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) as per Scheme-II of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. Alumina Calcined (Quality Control) Order, 2023: Calcined alumina is used in the manufacture of high-grade ceramic shapes, refractories and fused alumina abrasives. It is also has variety of industrial applications including Structural ceramics, Technical ceramics, Polishing compounds for plastic, metal, and glass, Fillers for Rubber and Plastics, Friction – anti slip, Refractories, Paint & Coatings and Thermal Spray Powders. So, for protection of human health and environment, the BIS standard of Calcined alumina needs to be made mandatory. The locally manufactured or imported Alumina Calcined shall conform to the Indian Standard IS 17441 (Part 1) : 2021, and shall bear the standard mark under license from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) as per Scheme-II of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

Diesel Engines — NOx Reduction Agent AUS 32 (Quality Control) Order, 2023: The Order seeks to ensure conformity of the Diesel Engines — NOx Reduction Agent AUS 32 to the Indian Standard, as amended from time to time, as specified in the Table of the Order: Diesel Engines — NOx Reduction Agent AUS 32, the NOx reduction agent AUS32 (aqueous urea solution) is used as NOx reduction agent, which is needed for selective catalytic reduction (SCR) in converter system of motor vehicle having diesel engines. SCR converter systems are suitable for selectively reducing the nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions of diesel engines. The aqueous urea solution i.e. Diesel Engines — NOx Reduction Agent AUS 32 is technically pure urea and pure water, having a urea content of 32,5 % (mass fraction), used as a NOx reduction agent in SCR converter system. Technically pure urea is an industrially produced grade of urea having CAS Number 57-13-6, with traces of biuret, ammonia and water only, free of aldehydes or other substances such as anticaking agent, also free of contaminants such as sulphur and its compounds, chloride, nitrate or other compounds. Manufacturer produces AUS 32 finished product by dilution of virgin urea, dilution of concentrated urea solution or dissolution of solid urea.
