A low pathogenic avian influenza with serotype H5 was detected from a small rural poultry holding of various species of about 221 birds in Modena, Region of Emilia Romagna, Italy. The Philippines is instituting this emergency measure to prevent the entry of avian influenza virus.

DA Memorandum Order No. 07, series of 2013, Temporary Ban on the Importation of Domestic and Wild Birds Including Day-Old Chicks, Eggs and Semen Originating from Modena, Region of Emilia Romagna, Italy. A low pathogenic avian influenza with serotype H5 was detected from a small rural poultry holding of various species of about 221 birds in Modena, Region of Emilia Romagna, Italy. The Philippines is instituting this emergency measure to prevent the entry of avian influenza virus.
