Industry specific requirements for sheep production system may be developed provided that it satisfies the minimum requirements set out in this Code. The purpose of this Code is to ensure that the farming practices of the establishment provide greater confidence in consumers expectations that the final products are safe and fit for human consumption, while ensuring health safety and comfort to both the farm workers and animals, without any degradation to the environment.

National Residue Program: Monitoring Chemical Hazards
The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is clarifying its approach within the National Residue Program's (NRP's) Tier 2 exploratory program when it tests tissue samples collected from livestock and poultry carcasses and detects chemicals that do not have established tolerances or other regulatory levels. This approach applies to potentially hazardous chemicals that are not animal drugs or pesticide chemicals with established tolerances. FSIS also intends to apply this approach to egg products should these products become subject to chemical testing and to products from fish of the order Siluriformes when the final rule to make these species amenable to the Federal Meat Inspection Act (FMIA) is fully implemented. FSIS requests comments on the approach discussed in this document, and on how it can further improve its management of environmental contaminants and other chemical hazards in meat and poultry products.

Exemption From the Requirement of a Tolerance
This regulation establishes an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance for residues of the biochemical pesticide natamycin in or on citrus, pome, stone fruit crop groups, avocado, kiwi, mango and pomegranates.

This regulation amends tolerances for residues of fluopicolide in or on potato, processed potato waste and vegetable, tuberous and corm, subgroup 1C and establishes a tolerance for residues of fluopicolide in or on potato, granules/flakes. This regulation also assigns an expiration date to existing tolerances for potato, processed potato waste at 1.0 ppm and vegetable, tuberous and corm, subgroup 1C at 0.3 ppm. Lastly, this regulation establishes a time-limited tolerance on hop, dried cones. The time-limited tolerance is in response to EPA's granting of an emergency exemption under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) . The time-limited tolerance will expire and revoked on 31 December 2019.
