Environment related objective
To promote rationalization of overall energy consumption in Japan through popularization of machineries and equipment with high energy consumption efficiency, in order to cope with the recent increase of energy consumption in transport sector, global warming problem and so forth.

Under the Act on the Rational Use of Energy , the new energy efficiency standards are established for showcases in the aim of improvement of their energy saving performance. The productscope, the measurement method of energy consumption efficiency, standard method and labelling requirementand so on will be established.
"Internally-located closed type showcase" and "internally-located open type showcase" specified in JIS B 8631-2 (freezing / refrigerating showcase – second part: classification, structure, characteristics and test condition): 2011 (hereinafter referred to as "JIS B 8631-2") . The measuring method of energy consumption efficiency of those internally-located showcases has been established.
