This draft Commission Directive lowers the migration limit for bisphenol A in toys intended for children under 3 years or in other toys intended to be put in the mouth, in order to ensure alignment to the latest scientific evidence and increase children's safety.

Draft Commission Directive amending, for the purpose of adopting specific limit values for chemicals used in toys, Appendix C to Annex II to Directive 2009/48/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the safety of toys, as regards bisphenol A (4 pages, in English) .

Draft Commission Implementing Regulation concerning the non-renewal of approval of the active substance diquat, in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning the placing of plant protection products on the market.

In order for an active substance to be approved in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009 (concerning the placing of plant protection products on the market), it must be demonstrated that the substance is not harmful to human health, animal health or the environment. Criteria are listed in Article 4 of the Regulation (and also detailed in Annex II) which must be met to enable approval.
