The Biosecurity Bill 2014 along with supporting legislation received Royal Assent from Australia's Governor-General on 16 June 2015 and has now become the Biosecurity Act 2015.

The new Biosecurity Import Conditions (BICON) system replaces and improves upon the Import Conditions (ICON) system that has provided Australia's biosecurity import conditions and the ability to apply for import permits for a number of years.

Note that genetically modified products are regulated differently due to their stronger resistance to glufosinate.

Phytosanitary requirements to prevent the introduction and establishment of plants regulated as pests in Canada.

Pest risk analysis was conducted on the above pest plant species and it was determined that it poses a significant risk to Canada's plant resource base. Based on this analysis, the CFIA is proposing to regulate this species as quarantine pests under the Plant Protection Act. This species is in addition to species that are already regulated by the CFIA under the Plant Protection Act.

Amendment to Resolution No. 1.929 of 2005 establishing phytosanitary requirements for the importation of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) tubers for consumption, produced in the Argentine Republic.

The presence of Andean potato weevil (Phyrdenus muriceus), which is a major quarantine pest for Chile, has been detected in consignments from Argentina. National Food Safety Standard: Food nutritional fortifier Selenium enriched yeast Language.

This standard applies to food nutritional fortifier Selenium enriched yeast, which uses appropriate nutrient substance used in fermentation to vaccinate yeast strain with no genetic modification, then through fermentation to convert the sodium selenite in the culture medium into organic selenium, and finally made though separation, drying and packaging.

This standard stipulates the technical requirements and testing methods for food nutritional fortifier Selenium enriched yeast.

Proposed Amendments to the Implementation Regulations on Safety Assessment of Agricultural Genetically Modified Organisms ( GMOs ).

The proposed amendments specify the requirements of the application materials for safety assessment review, the requirements on safety administration of GMOs related research and testing, the applicable region of a safety certificate and the office term of national biosafety committee (NBC) .
