Duration of the subsidy: Rights to produce and sell electricity within the framework of mandatory purchase or guaranteed payments is limited to a maximum of 20 years. The current system of mandatory purchase and guaranteed payments is in place until 2032 for electricity production in cogeneration and until 2037 for electricity production from renewable energy sources.
However, since 26 May 2011 no new rights are conferred to sell electricity produced from renewable energy sources within the framework of mandatory purchase or guaranteed payments. Similarly, since 10 September 2012 no new rights are conferred to sell electricity produced in cogeneration within the framework of mandatory purchase or guaranteed payments.
Application of the subsidised electricity tax will cease on 31 December 2017.

• Promotion of aquaculture having a high level of environmental protection, and the promotion of animal health and welfare and of public health and safety;
