In 1987, Canada signed the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer (the Montreal Protocol), under which Parties must phase out the production and consumption of a wide range of chemicals known to contribute to ozone depletion, including chlorofluorocarbons ( CFCs ), hydrochlorofluorocarbons ( HCFCs ), halons and methyl bromide.
The objective of the proposed Ozone -depleting Substances and Halocarbon Alternatives Regulations (proposed Regulations) is to repeal and replace the Ozone -depleting Substances Regulations

Draft revision of the Ordinance of the Swiss Federal Council on railway noise abatement.

The revised Federal Act on railway noise abatement (SR 742.144) obliges the Federal Council to introduce noise emission limits for freight wagons in Switzerland by 2020 (article 4) . As notified to the members of the WTO on 23 May 2012 ( G/TBT/N/CHE/152 ) in the context of the revision of the Federal Act on railway noise abatement, Switzerland foresees to specify these noise emission limits in the Ordinance of the Swiss Federal Council on railway noise abatement. This would align Swiss limits for pass-by noise with the EU Regulation on technical specification for interoperability relating to the subsystem 'rolling stock – noise' (No. 1304/2014) .
