Import approval for wild animals and plants
|
(1) Animals (excluding sperm whale, beaked whale, mink whale, sei whale, bryde's whale and fin whale) and plants included in Appendix I of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (hereinafter referred to as "CITES"), plus their parts and derivatives.
(2) Animals and plants belonging to species listed in Annex II of the CITES (except for whales and their preparations, and also except for oceanic whitetip shark, scalloped hammerhead, great hammerhead, smooth hammerhead, basking shark, white shark, porbeagle, whale shark and sea horse), plus their parts and derivatives (for plants, only those parts and derivatives specified in Annex II).
(3) Animals and plants belonging to species listed in Annex III of the CITES, plus their parts and derivatives.

Import approvals for ozone depleting substances and hazardous wastes
|
(1) Controlled substances listed in Annexes A, B, C, Group I, Group II, Group III, D, E of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer coming from non members of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer.
(2) Specified hazardous wastes in item 1 of Section 2 of the Law for the Control of the Export and Import of Specified Hazardous Wastes and Other Wastes.
(3) Wastes in item 1 of Section 2 of the Waste Management and Public Cleansing Law (except for wastes produced from ship or aircraft navigation in Article 4.2 and for a person who enters Japan carrying wastes).

In particular:
Granulated slag (slag sand) from the manufacture of ferrous metals
Slag, dross (other than granulated slag), scalings and other waste from the manufacture of ferrous metals
Scalings containing copper oxide
Slag, ash and residues (other than from the manufacture of ferrous metals) containing metals, arsenic or their compounds, including:
Hard zinc
Lead output, lead dross
Lead sludge, containing 30% of lead or more
Aluminium slag
Salt slag, containing magnesium
Light metal outputs, containing magnesium
Spent catalysts, suitable only for metal recovery or for the production of chemical reactants
Wastes, which composition includes as a component or contaminant any of the following substances:
Metal carbonyls
Hexavalent chromium compounds
Dust and residues from gas cleaning systems of copper smelteries
Wastes in the form of sludge, except for the anode sludge, from operations of electrolytic separation and purification of copper
Wastes containing copper chloride or copper cyanide
Slag, formed during the manufacture of iron and steel, used as raw material for titanium sponge and vanadium obtainment
Ashes from the printed circuit boards incineration, containing precious metal(s) or compounds of precious metal(s)
Ash from the film incineration, containing precious metal(s) or compounds of precious metal(s)
Film wastes, containing silver haloids and metallic silver
Photographic paper wastes, containing silver haloids and metallic silver
Gypsum wastes formed during the industrial chemical processes
Nitrocellulose wastes
Wastes of phenols and phenol compounds including chlorophenol in the form of liquids or sludges
Whether or not halogenated non-aqueous distillation residues formed during the operations of recovery (regeneration) of organic solvents
Wastes formed during the production of aliphatic halogenated hydrocarbons (chloromethane, dichloroethane, allyl chloride, epichlorohydrin), consisting of a mixture of polychlorinated hydrocarbons by 80-90%
Wastes containing or contaminated with the following compounds:
Inorganic cyanides, except for waste containing precious metal(s) or compounds of precious metal(s) in solid form with traces of inorganic cyanides
Organic cyanides
Wastes of acid and alkaline solutions, the main compound of which is the following substances:
Hydrochloric acid, pH <= 2
Sulfuric acid, oleum
Nitric acid, pH <= 2
Hydrofluoric acid
Hydrobromic acid
Ammonia in aqueous solution
Sodium hydroxide, pH> = 11.5
Potassium hydroxide pH> = 11.5
Slag from copper production, excluding chemically stabilized, with a high iron content (above 20%) and processed in accordance with industry standards
Slag from zinc production, excluding chemically stabilized, with a high iron content (above 20%) and processed in accordance with industry standards

Boiler slags
Solid residues, salt-containing residues and residues from smoke filters of furnace aggregate with a conventional fuel (without reactive gypsum)
