[Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research] ACIAR's mission is to achieve more productive and sustainable agricultural systems for the benefit of developing countries and Australia through international agricultural research partnerships. AgriScience: AgriScience is a programme under the [Candian Agricultural Partnership] CAP that aims to accelerate innovation by providing funding and support for pre-commercial science activities and research that support the Canadian agriculture and agri-food sector through two components: AgriScience-Clusters and AgriScience-Projects. Both components consist of three priority areas from which activities must align with: climate change and environment, economic growth and development, and sector resilience and societal challenge. AgriAssurance is a five-year federal initiative to foster public trust by helping industry develop and adopt systems, standards and tools that enable them to make credible, meaningful and verifiable claims about the health and safety of Canadian agricultural and agri-food products, and the manner in which they are produced. The AgriAssurance program offers funding through two components: National Industry Association. provides funding to not-for-profit national industry associations for projects aimed at developing or improving assurance systems, standards or tools in areas such as (...) animal welfare, environmental sustainability (...). CAP priority area: Environmental sustainability and Climate change (Cost-Shared): Climate Change (Alberta): The programme will contribute to climate change action and the Partnership’s Environmental Sustainability and Climate Change priority area by helping the sector reduce GHG emissions and implement practices to adapt to climate change, position itself in a low carbon economy, minimize resource waste and optimize resource utilization, and understand the risk and opportunities related to GHG emissions. CAP priority area: Environmental sustainability and Climate change (Cost-Shared): Environmental Sustainability and Climate Change (British Columbia): The Environmental Sustainability and Climate Change initiative is designed to increase the sector's capacity to maintain competitiveness, manage risks, enhance productivity and contribute to economic growth through action on climate change and increasing environmental sustainability. The initiative addresses priority environmental issues related to water quality, air quality, soil health and biodiversity, and includes the following programmes: an Environmental Farm Plan, Beneficial Management Practices (BMP) and Climate Change Adaptation Program (CCAP). CAP priority area: Environmental sustainability and Climate change (Cost-Shared): Ag Action Manitoba Program: Assurance: Beneficial Management Practices (Manitoba): Ag Action Manitoba will help farmers implement and adopt beneficial management practices (BMPs) on their farm identified in their Environmental Farm Plan. The BMPs are grouped into categories related to: resource efficiency planning; soil improvement and GHG reduction; manure and livestock management; drainage water management; and hazardous products management. CAP priority area: Environmental sustainability and Climate change (Cost-Shared): Environmentally Sustainable Agriculture (New Brunswick): The Environmentally Sustainable Agriculture programme will assist producers to evaluate the environmental and climate change risks associated with their operations, acquire knowledge and tools to address these risks, provide financial incentives to help them implement solutions and assist them to enhance their land base. The programme is separated in three sub programmes: Environmental Management Planning, Agro-Environmental Club Program, and Adoption of Environmental Beneficial Management Practices. (...) CAP priority area: Environmental sustainability and Climate change (Cost-Shared): Agricultural Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation (Nova Scotia): The Agricultural Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Program will support projects aimed at reducing the level of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and addressing the impacts of climate change such as extreme weather events, changing water availability, soil conditions, pests, etc., and at improving the sector's ability to manage climate change risks, including through clean technology innovation and adoption, while building public confidence in the environmental performance of the sector. CAP priority area: Environmental sustainability and Climate change (Cost-Shared): Environmental Protection Program (Nova Scotia): The Environmental Protection Program will provide funding for the Environmental Farm Plan (EFP) programme to assist in identifying areas of environmental risk and provide practical solutions to minimize those risks, including through the development and implementation of environmental stewardship initiatives.
