The ECC reviewed ongoing environmental cooperation activities and approved and signed the first United States-Colombia Work Program for Environmental Cooperation under the ECA, which provides a robust framework for advancing environmental cooperation in the coming years. In 2015 and 2016, the United States and Colombia made progress toward the establishment of an independent secretariat to receive and consider submissions from the public on matters regarding enforcement of environmental laws pursuant to Article 18.8 of the CTPA, and hope to finalize the agreement in 2016 or early 2017.
