16. Prohibition of import and export of scheduled ozone depleting substances from/to non-parties to the Montreal Protocol. The restriction is administered through a global ban of imports and exports of scheduled substances from/to non-parties to the Montreal Protocol on an MFN basis to give effect to HKC’s international obligations, to control the importation and exportation of ozone depleting substances, and to conserve the ozone layer.
Scheduled ozone depleting substances (please refer to http://www.epd.gov.hk/epd/english/application_for_licences/guidance/wn6_licen1_1.html). HS codes are ex 2903 and ex 8424.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the present proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Regulation (EU) 2018/848 on organic production defers by one year the date of entry into application of Regulation (EU) 2018/848 on organic production. Following its adoption, instead of entering into application on 1 January 2021, Regulation (EU) 2018/848 will enter into application on 1 January 2022. Other dates linked to the date of entry into application of Regulation (EU) 2018/848 are also deferred by one year.

2. Endangered animal and plant species – CITES and Australian native species: Plant and animal species listed under CITES generally require a CITES permit for import or export. Restrictions vary according to the CITES appendix listing (I, II or III). There are some exemptions for exports of personal and household effects (non–live specimens). Australian native animals and plants which are not described in the List of Exempt Native Specimens require an export permit.
Animal and plant species and all products manufactured from species (including some medicinal products) listed in the appendices to the CITES. Examples include black coral, orchids and ivory products
