The relationship between the TRIPS Agreement and the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), in addition to the protection of traditional knowledge and folklore, should be dealt with urgency in order to ensure the fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising from the utilization of genetic resources and traditional knowledge of origin countries.

During most of the review period Thailand's production assistance legislation remained relatively unchanged until the announcement of the 2014 policies and incentives which were not yet notified to the WTO (section 3.4.2.1). Other changes involved BOI (Board of Investment) support for flood affected investment in 2012 and investment promotion for sustainable development in 2013.

One impact of an initiative such as the VUCE is the reduction in the amount of paper used, which generates significant environmental benefits. The benefit is measured by assessing the main inputs in the paper production process (trees, water and energy). Since the platform became operational, the number of sheets of paper used in procedures has fallen by more than 14 million, which translates into savings of more than 1,700 trees and more than 4 million litres of water.
