Proposal for Amendments to the Mandatory Requirements of Water Efficiency Labeling Products for Water Use Equipment, Sanitary Ware or Other Equipment: In order to encourage the public to save water easily, the Water Resource Agency proposes to include induction faucets in the product scope to which a Water Efficiency Label shall be affixed. To further promote the use of water-saving equipment and facilitate water saving, amendment to the scope of products to carry the Water Efficiency Label is proposed to add induction faucets considering that induction faucets has been widely used in public places.

Draft of the Requirements on Minimum Energy Performance Standard, Energy Efficiency Indication, and Inspection for Microwave Ovens: The Bureau of Energy intends to draft the ''Requirements on Minimum Energy Performance Standard, Energy Efficiency Indication, and Inspection for Microwave Ovens'' to strengthen the energy efficiency supervision and the inspection.

Proposal for amendments to the legal inspection requirements for microwave ovens: In line with the energy policy, the BSMI proposes to require that microwave ovens be subject to Section 6 "General conditions for measurements", Section 8 "Determination of microwave power output" and Section 9 "Efficiency" of CNS 60705: 2018, and CNS 62301: 2017. The measured efficiency and standby power shall comply with the Table of "MEPS for Microwave Ovens" as stated in "Requirements on Minimum Energy Performance Standard, Energy Efficiency Indication, and Inspection for Microwave Ovens" to be adopted by the Bureau of Energy, which was notified as G/TBT/N/TPKM/456 .

Requirements on Minimum Energy Performance Standard, Labelling and Inspection of Rotordynamic Water Pumps (draft): Aiming to enhance the efficiency of energy utilization, the Bureau of Energy intends to expand the regulated scope of energy consumption standard and labelling scheme to include rotordynamic water pumps so as to reduce electricity loss. The proposed scheme applies to both imported products and domestically manufactured products. In addition to the scheme, the proposed technical regulations also specify labelling and inspection requirements, the conformity assessment procedures and post-market surveillance. Products that fail to conform to the requirements will be prohibited from being sold and placed on the domestic market.

Proposal for amendments to the legal inspection requirements for air-cleaning appliances: In line with the energy policy, the BSMI proposes to require that air-cleaning appliances be subject to CNS 16098: 2019. The measured efficiency and standby power shall comply with the Table of "MEPS for Air Cleaners" as stated in "Requirements on Minimum Energy Performance Standard, Energy Efficiency Rating Labelling and Inspection for Air Cleaners" to be adopted by the Bureau of Energy, which was notified as G/TBT/N/TPKM/451 .

The conformity assessment procedures for products subject to this notified measure remain the same, i.e. Registration of Products Certification (RPC) or Type-Approved Batch Inspection (TABI) .

Draft Regulation for the Use Restriction and Labeling Requirement of the Ganoderma microsporum Globulin-like Protein Concentrate Produced by Genetically Modified Pichia pastoris Ey72 as a Food Ingredient: This draft regulation specifies the use restriction and labeling requirement for the Ganoderma microsporum globulin-like protein concentrate produced by genetically modified Pichia pastoris Ey72 for food purposes.

Proposal for amendments to the legal requirements for printing or copying machines and 30 other commodities: BSMI proposes to adopt the newest version of the electrical safety specifications, electromagnetic compatibility and related inspection standards, CNS 15598-1: 2020 and CNS15936: 2016 to bring our regulations into line with the international standards to ensure consumers' safety.

In addition, CNS 15598-1: 2020 was also revised to meet the ratification requirements of the Minamata Convention on Mercury to address the threat to human health and the environment.

For the video recording or reproducing apparatus, the standard to be adopted contains volume limits requirements to protect consumers from hearing loss.

Draft for the restriction on the production, importation, and sales of plate packaging materials containing Polyvinylchloride (PVC), designated recyclable containers, and non-plate disposable tableware containers: Polyvinylchlioride (hereinafter referred to as ''PVC'') has been widely used and deeply involved in our daily lives for years. PVC products are often added with stabilizers due to the need for heat resistance substances which contain heavy metals that are harmful to human health. PVC materials are not resistant to oil-soluble corrosion; therefore, it is possible to have plasticizer contamination in our foods, resulting in environmental hormone effects and carcinogenic risk due to the exposure to PVC. (...) Further risks to the environment are followed by the burial and reusing process of the ash and slag, which causes the pollution to be distributed in the environment.

Considering the fact that Dioxin is very difficult to decompose in natural environment, negative impacts of dioxin on human health and the environment will become significant once it has entered the food chain. In order to protect the health of the citizens and environment, the Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) guides the industry to switch to other alternative materials to reduce the use of products containing PVC by the consumers.
