Energy Conservation (Prescribed Regulated Goods) Order 2021 and Energy Conservation (Regulated Goods and Registered Suppliers) Regulations 2021.

NEA introduced the Mandatory Energy Labelling Scheme (MELS) and Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) in 2008 and 2011 respectively.

The existing Energy Conservation (Prescribed Regulated Goods) Order 2017 and the Energy Conservation (Regulated Goods and Registered Suppliers) Regulations 2017 will be amended to introduce MELS and MEPS for three-phase VRF air-conditioners.
Environment related objective
For the purposes of environmental protection and energy conservation.
The introduction of MEPS for three-phase VRF air-conditioners will reduce energy consumption and result in lower emissions of greenhouse gases from space cooling. Energy labelling (MELS) will help users select more energy efficient models, reap lifecycle cost savings and contribute to the efforts to lower emission of greenhouse gases.

Draft Environmental Protection and Management …
Draft Environmental Protection and Management (Vehicular Emissions ) (Amendment) Regulations 2021.

Singapore plans to tighten the particle number (PN) limit for gasoline direct injection (GDI) vehicles from 6x1012 to 6x1011 from 1 September 2021.

Regulation 4(1) of the Environmental Protection and Management (Vehicular Emissions ) Regulations state that every petrol driven motor vehicle (other than a motor cycle or scooter) to be registered in Singapore on or after 1 September 2017 shall conform to any of the standards for exhaust emission specified in the First Schedule for the class of motor vehicle to which that motor vehicle belongs.
Environment related objective
As part of the National Environment Agency (NEA)'s on-going efforts to further improve Singapore's ambient air quality and safeguard public health, NEA regularly reviews and tightens vehicular emission standards under the Environmental Protection and Management (Vehicular Emission ) Regulations. The objective is protection of the environment and human health by controlling and prohibiting the emission of air impurities. Ultrafine particles (i.e. PN) are a hazard to public health, hence emissions of ultrafine particles from GDI vehicles should be limited as much as possible. The PN limit for GDI petrol vehicles should thus be tightened from 6x1012 to 6x1011 to align with the current PN limit of the Euro 6 emission standard in the EU.
