General Services: Research: All these activities are commonly carried out every year include Research development programs and administration on specific commodity and products such as vanilla, kava, squash, watermelon, pineapple, papaya, bananas, root crops, including animal health and production research and development, genetic and sustainable crop and livestock production system and climate resilient system. Research activities on production of seeds and planting materials plus various projects in various years including, Domestication & Breeding of sandalwood (ACIAR); Soil Management in PICs (ACIAR); Enhanced Fruit Production and postharvest handling systems (ACIAR); Enhancing resilience of Food Security; Enhanced Capacity for integrating disaster risk reduction (DRR) in agriculture; Tonga Health Project to promote healthy lifestyle.

The import of Controlled Substances included in Annex C, Group 1 of Annex I of this Decision is allowed only on the basis of annual quotas, determined in Annex IV of this Decision

Ozone-depleting substances: In January 2019, Council of Minister has approved a new DCM No. 10/2019 "On Rules for the Production, Import, Export, placing on the Market and Use of Ozone-Depleting Substances, as well as the Products and Equipment that Contain these Substances", which has partially transposed in place three EU regulation Nos. 1005/2009; 291/2011; and 744/2010. The import of Controlled Substances included in Annex C, Group 1 of Annex I of this Decision is allowed only on the basis of annual quotas, determined in Annex IV of this Decision
Substances that deplete the ozone layer, included in Annex C, Group 1 of Annex I. Applies to all countries which are Party to the Montreal Protocol.

1. Animals (including birds, marine animals and insects) and animal products, plants and goods of general quarantine concern. The Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act) regulates international trade in Australian native species, live animals and plants, and species listed under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).

The Biosecurity Act 2015 applies controls to the importation of all plants, parts of plants and plant products, all animals (including birds, marine animals and insects), animal products, soil and other items of general quarantine concern.

To manage the risk of introduction of pests and disease that could damage plant, animal or human health or the environment; to contribute to the protection and conservation of species that are endangered, or could become endangered, and to facilitate legal, sustainable trade in wildlife; comply with CITES.
