Decision of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China on Amending the Implementation Regulations on Safety Assessment of Agricultural Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) (Draft): The decision modifies the requirements of the safety assessment application materials for agricultural GMOs. The decision refines the renewal application procedure of GMOs, and clarifies the application procedure of transformant combinations.

National Food Safety Standard of the P.R.C.: Maximum Residue Limits for Pesticides in Foods: This standard establishes 733 maximum residue limits (MRLs) for the residues of 145 pesticides, including 2,4-dichlorophenoxybutyric acid, etc. in or on foods.

Some proposed residue limits may differ from maximum residue limits standards of Codex. The scientific methodology adopted to establish MRLs in China is consistent with international common practice. Members set MRLs in accordance with the good agricultural practice (GAP), which is applicable to their respective conditions. Since the pests and environmental factors vary in different producing regions and Members, they may choose different use-patterns of pesticides. Therefore, Chinese MRLs for pesticides in foods may differ from Codex standards.

Draft Twenty-second Ordinance amending the Consumer Goods Ordinance: The Draft Twenty-second Ordinance amending the German Ordinance on Consumer Goods establishes provisions minimising the transfer of mineral oil aromatic hydrocarbons (MOAH) from materials and articles in contact with food (fcm) made from recycled paper and board. In case that testing of MOAH transfer from the recycled paper and board food contact materials and articles is carried out in food simulants, a detection limit of 0.15 mg MOAH/kg simulant applies (due to absence of significant negative matrix effects which are especially relevant as regards MOAH analytics in foodstuffs) . Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/2116 of 16 December 2020 concerning the renewal of the authorisation of L-histidine monohydrochloride monohydrate produced by Escherichia coli ATCC 9637 as a feed additive for salmonids and its extension of use to other finfish, and repealing Regulation (EC) No 244/2007: (...) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/2118 of 16 December 2020 concerning the renewal of the authorisation of Pediococcus pentosaceus DSM 16244 as a feed additive for all animal species and repealing Regulation (EU) No 514/2010: (...)
