"Basic Policy for Promotion of Procurement of Eco-Friendly Goods and Services" under the "Act on Promotion of Procurement of Eco-Friendly Goods and Services by the State and Other Entities" :
On 7 February 2020, the addition of 1 item, the deletion of 2 items and the revision of the individual evaluation criteria for 37 items, common evaluation criteria of stationery were adopted by the cabinet meeting concerning designated procurement items under the Basic Policy.

On 19 February 2021, amendment concerning designated procurement items under the Basic Policy including addition of two items, division of one item (automobile) into six items and revision of individual evaluation criteria for 41 items, was adopted at a cabinet meeting.

The Livestock Promotion Corporation (Corporación Ganadera, CORFOGA), a non-State public law entity with its own legal personality and assets, was created under Law No. 7837 of 5 October 1998 to promote livestock production. (...)

The existence, maintenance and promotion of bovine livestock, in particular that of small and medium-sized producers dedicated to this activity, is of public interest. Accordingly, the Corporation seeks to promote sustainable cattle-farming, the development and modernization of this activity, and increased productivity. The Economic Partnership Agreement between the CARIFORUM States, of the one part, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, of the other part (the CARIFORUM-UK EPA) is based on the CARIFORUM EPA. The CARIFORUM-UK EPA establishes a free trade area for trade in goods, within the meaning of Article XXIV of the GATT 1994, and for trade in services, within the meaning of Article V of the GATS.

The provisions on goods include provisions on rules of origin, preferential tariffs and quotas. The Free Trade Agreement between the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam ("the Agreement") is based on the EU-Viet Nam Agreement.

The Agreement establishes a free trade area for trade in goods, within the meaning of Article XXIV of the GATT 1994, and for trade in services, within the meaning of Article V of the GATS. Preferential treatment under the agreement will be provisionally applied by both parties as of 1 January 2021.

As well as preferential trade in services, the Agreement also contains provisions on, inter alia, technical barriers to trade, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, government procurement, investment liberalisation, intellectual property, competition policy, trade remedies, state-owned enterprises, customs and trade facilitation, trade and sustainable development, cooperation and capacity building, and a dispute settlement mechanism.

The Agreement between the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Japan for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership ("the Agreement") therefore creates a free trade area in goods between the United Kingdom and Japan, within the meaning of Article XXIV of the GATT 1994, and for trade in services, within the meaning of Article V of the GATS.



Provisions on trade in goods include rules of origin and preferential tariffs. As well as preferential trade in services, the Agreement also contains provisions such as on government procurement, investment liberalisation, electronic commerce, intellectual property, competition policy, subsidies, state-owned enterprises, regulatory cooperation, trade and sustainable development, cooperation in the field of agriculture, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), women's economic empowerment, and a dispute settlement mechanism.

On 24 December 2020, the EU and the UK agreed the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement ("the Agreement") establishing a free trade area between the European Union and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland which replaces the previous trading arrangement from 1 January 2021.

The Agreement establishes a free trade area in goods between the United Kingdom and the European Union, within the meaning of Article XXIV:8(b) of the GATT 1994, and for trade in services, an agreement within the meaning of Article V of the GATS. Provisions on trade in goods include provisions on rules of origin, preferential tariffs and other restrictive regulations of commerce. It also includes commitments concerning trade in services, and also covers other aspects of the bilateral relationship, such as public procurement, aviation, energy , road transport, social security cooperation and law enforcement cooperation.
