The Food Processing Marketing and Co operation (FPMC) Grants Scheme can provide support grants to suppliers and producers to contribute to the government's overall vision for food and drink in Scotland, which is to be a Good Food Nation. The food and drink sector can also help to make Scotland healthier, wealthier and smarter, with stronger communities and production that is socially and environmentally sustainable.
The Food Processing Marketing and Co operation (FPMC) Grant Scheme provides financial assistance to food/drink businesses in Scotland with start up grants and development grants for existing food/drink businesses in Scotland. Subsidy per unit varies per project.
Type of measure
Financial assistance takes the form of direct grants and is provided through conditionally repayable contributions to commercial (i.e., private sector) food and drink businesses and food and drink organisations.

Scottish Government: Forestry Grant Scheme:
The Forestry Grant Scheme (FGS) supports the forestry sector in Scotland by providing a range of grants for woodland creation and the sustainable management of existing woodlands. The Scottish Government has set out a vision for forestry through the Scottish Forestry Strategy – this recognises that forestry is a long term activity and that forests should be sustainably managed to provide economic, environmental and social benefits.
The scheme provides support for a range of activities, including the creation and sustainable management of woodland and forests, the protection from the impacts of non routine pests and diseases, as well as the development of the small scale premium softwood and hardwood processing sector.

Scottish Government: Forestry Grant Scheme:
The Forestry Grant Scheme (FGS) supports the forestry sector in Scotland by providing a range of grants for woodland creation and the sustainable management of existing woodlands. The Scottish Government has set out a vision for forestry through the Scottish Forestry Strategy – this recognises that forestry is a long term activity and that forests should be sustainably managed to provide economic, environmental and social benefits.
The scheme provides support for a range of activities, including the creation and sustainable management of woodland and forests, the protection from the impacts of non routine pests and diseases, as well as the development of the small scale premium softwood and hardwood processing sector.
Scheme is available to private landowners such as farmers, private forest owners and small and medium scale forest businesses. Grants are based on 80 100% of 'standard costs' which sets out the average cost for carrying out a forest activity. The standard costs have been independently verified. Projects are selected through a competitive monthly process.

The programme commenced from May 2015 and continued until 30 December 2020 under the EU regulations, but the Forestry Grant Scheme continues under retained EU law.
FGS is ongoing, with the intention for the scheme to operate indefinitely. No major changes to the scheme are expected until at least March 2024, after which there may be the option to revise.

The EMFF promotes sustainable fisheries and aquaculture, supporting the implementation of measures to ensure better compliance with the objectives, rules and targets of the EU Common Fisheries Policy (CFP).
The UK's objectives for the programme include fostering environmentally sustainable, resource efficient, innovative, competitive and knowledge based fisheries and aquaculture, increasing employment and territorial cohesion and fostering marketing and processing within the fisheries and aquaculture sectors.
Beneficiaries of the scheme can include fishermen, fishermen's organisations, businesses involved with fisheries, aquaculture, fish processing sectors, SMEs, fish producer organisations, professional organisations, fisheries local action groups and cooperatives.

Fisheries Development Loan Fund:
(a) To provide one-off loans for owners of trawlers and fish collectors affected by the trawl ban to, without increasing the overall fishing efforts, upgrade their vessels to standards required for their continued operational needs, switch to more sustainable fisheries operations and other fisheries-related operations, or carry out projects that will reduce fuel consumption or the carbon footprint of their operations. The deadline of application was 31.12.2015;
(b) To provide loans for capture fishermen and owners of fish collectors to, without increasing the overall fishing efforts, switch to more sustainable fisheries operations and other fisheries-related operations, or carry out projects that will reduce fuel consumption or the carbon footprint of their operations; and
(c) To provide loans that help fish farmers develop aquaculture, or improve their aquaculture businesses leading to more environmentally friendly operations or better aquaculture products in terms of quality and food safety standards.

Applicants for the loans under 3(a) also have to prove that they are genuinely affected by the trawl ban.

This development must be founded on specificity, sustainability and diversity.
Support is provided for dairy farms, sheep farms and horticulture farms (greenhouse).
Type of measure
Agricultural subsidies in Iceland is mostly provided through direct payments, based on payment entitlements, which are directly or indirectly coupled with production factors. Direct payments are provided to cattle (mainly dairy) and sheep producers, and, on a smaller scale, to certain greenhouse producers.
