The primary objective of the scheme is environmental protection. The aim is to create a market for solar cells systems in Sweden in order to contribute to the transition of the energy system and to industrial development in the field of energy techniques. The objective is to increase the number of suppliers and users of solar cells in Sweden, to contribute to decreased costs for the systems and to increase the annual electricity production from solar cells.

Investment aid in accordance with article 38 of GBER may only be granted to large undertakings which have conducted an energy review ("energikartläggning") or an environmental study in accordance with article 49 of GBER. The energy efficiency measure must have been proposed in the preceding energy review or environmental study, and the preceding energy review or environmental study must indicate an estimated energy saving for the measure. Investment aid in accordance with article 38 in GBER shall be granted for measures that at each time of assessment lead to the highest energy saving per SEK of granted aid.

Aid may be granted for measures which aim to promote the development and use of liquid biogas. These measures must be taken within the framework of an innovation cluster which has received aid in accordance with article 27 of Commission Regulation (EU) Nº 651/2014 (GBER).
The scheme shall contribute to demonstration, use and dissemination of techniques for production of liquid biogas, for operation of gas vehicles in regional and local traffic and for combinations of these techniques in Sweden. (...)

The objective of the aid is to promote a transition to fossil free fuel for domestic aviation and to encourage that international bunkering on airports in Sweden is carried out as far as possible with renewable fuels. The aim is to support research and development of sustainable biofuels for aviation and to establish an innovation cluster which gathers the whole value chain and which can produce a common needs assessment in order to face up to the transition to fossil free aviation.

. Investments in all sectors, and all types of organizations are eligible to apply for grants, except those included in the EU ETS. Investments in sectors included in the EU ETS may still be eligible for grants if these result in an increased utilization of waste heat. Applicants compete based on the estimated greenhouse gas reduction compared to the money invested
